The Zilos Capital Philosophy

First and foremost, we are absolutely and entirely proud to say that we are a Christian owned and operated private business – and here is an overarching guiding principle for our private equity firm:

Proverbs 24:3-4 (HCSB)

“A house is built by wisdom, and it is established by understanding; by knowledge the rooms are filled with every precious and beautiful treasure.”

Over the last 19 years, we’ve learned a lot about investing. . .

Thanks to intentionality and ADHD, we’ve participated in a diverse blend of opportunities in multiple countries – and the list keeps growing. With each venture, there have been useful insights (either concepts reinforced via wins or priceless lessons learned via errors) observed which have allowed us to continue improving our craft as VC’s.

We expect this learning process will continue indefinitely. . .

SoulFit: Zilos Capital’s Core Investment Principle

At Zilos, we use a proprietary methodology called SoulFit.

It’s how we vet prospective ventures. Most business can not and will not pass this first step of vetting.

Rather than being a “thing”, SoulFit is a mode of operation, dictating that we will only invest in a venture with a soul (business philosophy) that aligns amicably with our own – and with ZERO compromise.

Our philosophy is something we intentionally do not publicize nor share specific details of. It is what we believe makes the difference between a successful (using our own definition of the word) venture versus a flop. SoulFit IS our competitive advantage – and it’s precious.

Why don’t we publish the SoulFit characteristics? Because Founders and companies shouldn’t have to “adjust” to them, they should already be operating under them; organically.

Guiding Investment Principles

Below are some of our perspectives on smart investing.

These principles are in no particular order (for now), and we expect them to be fluid indefinitely as our own wisdom ascends:
